THIS EVENING'S MUSIC - JO STAFFORD - "NO OTHER LOVE"

This top-10 single is not the Rodgers & Hammerstein tune that Perry Como would popularize three years later, but the familiar Chopin Etude No. 3 in E Major. With George Greeley occupying conductor Paul Weston’s usual spot at the piano, Weston was already half-way out the door....departing his music directorship at Capitol for a similar position at the resurging Columbia label. Ms. Stafford (the future Mrs. Weston) would also jump to Columbia a couple of months later.
