JOHNSON CITY, TN –

In November 2015, the Department of Biological Sciences at East Tennessee State University set up live streaming cameras focused on two active nests of Bald Eagles, our national bird. Two separate mated pairs of Bald Eagles have been selected, one nest is located in Bluff City, and the other is in Johnson City. These cameras provide a novel perspective into the lives and habits of these beautiful birds. Bald Eagles are long-lived birds of prey that have high nest site fidelity and will reuse the same structure for years. As part of the courtship behavior, mated pairs of Bald Eagles will bring new twigs and branches to the pre-existing nest each breeding season which results in a massive structure that can be well over one ton in weight! The Bluff City eagles laid eggs on Feb 3 and Feb 6. The Johnson City eagles laid eggs on Feb 10 and Feb 13. Eggs of Bald Eagles are laid 3 days apart (so ours read the maternity guides and laid their eggs on schedule) and the eggs hatch in 35 days. Using these guidelines, we have calculated the Bluff City eggs should hatch on March 9 and 12 and the Johnson City eggs should hatch on March 16 and 19. S o keep your eyes out everyone, we may have eaglets soon!! This is a prime opportunity to observe these iconic birds in their natural habitat, undisturbed.

PAWS and STRIPES

Here is information about an organization that trains Shelter Dogs to help our Vets with PTSD. The organization is called "Paws and Stripes". They were recently on Fox News morning show ( CLICK HERE )

Biden-Appointed Judge Rules That Banning Noncitizens from Voting in a Federal Election is Unconstitutional.

A federal judge in Miami has dismissed a criminal case against a noncitizen accused of voting in a federal election, ruling that Congress lacked constitutional authority to enact the federal statute used to prosecute her.

U.S. District Judge David S. Leibowitz of the Southern District of Florida issued the 31-page ruling Wednesday in United States v. Cox.

Leibowitz was nominated to the federal bench by former President Joe Biden in 2024.

The ruling applies specifically to defendant Chelsea Michelle Ann Cox and does not bind other federal courts.

Cox, a Jamaican national, was charged by federal prosecutors in October 2025 under 18 U.S.C. § 611.

I'LL BE BACK...

This all started with C.... Era with Google. They were taking down my posts insisting they were violated 'community standards'. When I would protest, most of my posts were reinstated. That's when I learned "Boogle" bought out Blogger.

I thought that done and finished with after the C.... Era, but no... I am a conservative. Recently, I change my Tri Cites On A Dime, to more conservative posts. "boogle" struck again. I am unable to post pictures or memes to my page. I have contacted 'computer guy' and I be back up with a different web page. I think I'll call it tricitiesonadime2. I let you know.

Check your shampoo bottle label. I don’t know why I didn’t figure this out sooner!! It’s the shampoo I use in the shower! When I wash my hair, the shampoo runs down my whole body, and printed very clearly on the shampoo label is this warning: FOR EXTRA VOLUME AND BODY! No wonder I have been gaining weight!!!

Well I have gotten rid of that shampoo and I am going to start using Dawn dish soap instead. Their label reads: DISSOLVES FAT THAT IS OTHERWISE DIFFICULT TO REMOVE. Problem solved!!.

If I don’t answer the phone, I’ll be in the shower!

STROKE HAS A NEW INDICATOR

STROKE IDENTIFICATION:

During a BBQ, a woman stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) ....she said she had just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes.

They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food. While she appeared a bit shaken up, Jane went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening.

Jane's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00 pm Jane passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Jane would be with us today. Some don't die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead. It only takes a minute to read this.

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE

Thank God for the sense to remember the '3' steps, STR. Read and Learn!

Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke. Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

S *Ask the individual to SMILE.

T *Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE
SENTENCE (Coherently)
(i.e. It is sunny out today.)

R *Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call emergency number immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

New Sign of a Stroke -------- Stick out Your Tongue

NOTE: Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the person to 'stick' out his tongue. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other that is also an indication of a stroke.
