JOHNSON CITY, TN –

In November 2015, the Department of Biological Sciences at East Tennessee State University set up live streaming cameras focused on two active nests of Bald Eagles, our national bird. Two separate mated pairs of Bald Eagles have been selected, one nest is located in Bluff City, and the other is in Johnson City. These cameras provide a novel perspective into the lives and habits of these beautiful birds. Bald Eagles are long-lived birds of prey that have high nest site fidelity and will reuse the same structure for years. As part of the courtship behavior, mated pairs of Bald Eagles will bring new twigs and branches to the pre-existing nest each breeding season which results in a massive structure that can be well over one ton in weight! The Bluff City eagles laid eggs on Feb 3 and Feb 6. The Johnson City eagles laid eggs on Feb 10 and Feb 13. Eggs of Bald Eagles are laid 3 days apart (so ours read the maternity guides and laid their eggs on schedule) and the eggs hatch in 35 days. Using these guidelines, we have calculated the Bluff City eggs should hatch on March 9 and 12 and the Johnson City eggs should hatch on March 16 and 19. S o keep your eyes out everyone, we may have eaglets soon!! This is a prime opportunity to observe these iconic birds in their natural habitat, undisturbed.

PAWS and STRIPES

I am a cancer survivor - 8 years cancer free from absolutely no help from the so-called 'experts'. Mammograms never detected the cancer, nor did an ultra sound. If I was insistent that there was a small lump in my breast, they never would have done the lumpectomy. Gee, it was stage one, which required no chemo, which I wasn't going to take anyway. I did have a round of radiation, which I can tell you, after my research, I wouldn't have done that either. Oh, by the way, I didn't take the so-called 5 year pill after the surgery either, but that's another story.

This is what I have gleaned from my research:

1. Cancer cell are 'hotter' than the other cells in your body. They can be detected through thermography because of their 'elevated' temperature.

2. There are theories out there that cancer is either a virus or a parasite. In my opinion, I side with the parasite theory because of the metastasis. I remember in one of my lecture classes back in the 1970's when an oncologist was the speaker, he stated way back then that it is known that the main tumor send our 'little seed cells'["Scouts" as I call them] throughout the body that remain dormant while the main tumor remains intact. Remove the main tumor, and that activates the Scouts.

3. My primary care doctor put me on a protocol of four supplements - the list is below. I take one supplement at a time until the bottle is finished, and proceed to the next and do the same thing. Once I finish with the 4th on list, I start over. I still on this protocol eight years later.

Check your shampoo bottle label. I don’t know why I didn’t figure this out sooner!! It’s the shampoo I use in the shower! When I wash my hair, the shampoo runs down my whole body, and printed very clearly on the shampoo label is this warning: FOR EXTRA VOLUME AND BODY! No wonder I have been gaining weight!!!

Well I have gotten rid of that shampoo and I am going to start using Dawn dish soap instead. Their label reads: DISSOLVES FAT THAT IS OTHERWISE DIFFICULT TO REMOVE. Problem solved!!.

STROKE HAS A NEW INDICATOR

STROKE IDENTIFICATION:

During a BBQ, a woman stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) ....she said she had just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes.

They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food. While she appeared a bit shaken up, Jane went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening.

Jane's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00 pm Jane passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Jane would be with us today. Some don't die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead. It only takes a minute to read this.

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE

Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke. Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

S *Ask the individual to SMILE.

T *Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE
SENTENCE (Coherently)
(i.e. It is sunny out today.)

R *Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call emergency number immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

New Sign of a Stroke -------- Stick out Your Tongue

NOTE: Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the person to 'stick' out his tongue. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other that is also an indication of a stroke.
