THIS HOUSEHOLD TIP IS Sooooo COOL! AND YES, I AM DATING MYSELF WITH THAT EXPRESSION.
Dear Readers:
This hint is from a really great web site - TipHero (http://tiphero.com)
The Food Storage Hack that’s Better than the Rest!
So, here’s the deal. You know those disposable Glad storage containers that everyone and their mother has lining the shelves of their cupboards? Of course you do! These kitchen mainstays are used by master home chefs and microwave dinner fanatics alike because they are durable, easy-to-clean, and best of all, cheap.
And though their design may look simple, these food-saving contraptions are actually much, MUCH more complex than you may think. You see, the genius of this product rests entirely in its lid…
Yep, THAT one.
Now, it’s fair to say that you’ve never sat around and wondered why the makers of this product chose to add a circle to the tops. We always just assumed that it was either part of the aesthetic, or even perhaps a good spot to press when securing the lid.
Fair assumptions, right? Well, what if we told you that the circular feature was actually made for THIS:
If you’re not too sure what you are looking at here, don’t worry. Our minds were so totally blown when we first laid eyes on it that we couldn’t quite grasp the brilliance either.
It turns out that Glad isn’t into haphazardly adding geometric shapes to their containers for no reason. The superb designers included the circle so that it could act as a spill-proof, snap-on lid for their tiny dressing cups. Get it now?!
We’re absolutely going gaga over this idea and—like the rest of you out there—we are wondering why we never heard of it sooner!
The salad dressing storage secret that was right under our noses
Believe it or not, Glad actually has photographic evidence of these unbelievably nifty containers right on their website, so this tip isn’t necessarily akin to a hack or “secret menu”-worthy item. Now, we’re not saying that we regularly browse the company’s website—after all, we always assumed that their iconic disposable food storage devices were foolproof. Just the same, it’s obviously time that we start reading the instructions since we’ve clearly been missing out on some good stuff.
Although Glad only plugs this obscure feature for its legions of on-the-go salad lovers, we have a host of ideas in regards to how we can all get the most out of this trick. Aside from dressing and greens, we can’t wait to try the snap-on cup with chips and salsa, pita and hummus, and even pie and whipped cream.
Hey, you learn something new every day!
We can’t wait to hear what you have to say about this little-known food storage trick. Have you been securing your salad dressing with the special Glad lids for a while? If so, how come you didn’t tell US about it?! What’s the best backpack-friendly dressing that doesn’t require refrigeration?

HOUSEHOLD TIP FOR THE DAY - 13 PRODUCTS YOU DIDN'T KNOW YOU NEEDED FOR YOUR CAR
Dear Readers:
I am always looking for helpful ideas to make life easier. Here is one from Tip Hero. Click on the like after the excerpt to get some more great ideas.
13 Products You Didn’t Know You Needed for Your Car
Did
you know that the average American spends roughly 290 hours per year
behind the wheel? It’s a startling statistic, but it’s also one that
leads us two very important points: 1) we all commute way too much and
2) because we spend so much time on the road, our cars should always be safe, clean, and most of all, comfortable!
To
ensure that the latter is always fulfilled, we’ve compiled a list of 13
of the most versatile products that everyone should keep in their cars
at all times—and the best part is that you probably own each of them
already! For full tutorials and more information on each product, click
on the links below.
String
Drive
an older car that doesn’t come equipped with electronic locks? We’ve
been there, so we know all too well how easy it can be to manually lock
everything up, slam the doors, and then realize that you accidentally
left your keys RIGHT on the front seat!
If
you find yourself in this aggravating scenario, don’t call a pricey
locksmith when you can release your locked door by threading a couple of
meters of ordinary string through the lock. Protip: If you’ve managed
to lock your string in the car as well, just tie together your
shoelaces!

A MOVING TRIBUTE TO 9/11
Dear Readers:
This is the commercial spot Budweiser produced after 9/11. They only aired it once so as not to benefit financially from it - they just wanted to acknowledge the tragic event. I never saw this commercial until now.... it is quite moving. Talk about a picture being worth a thousand words.
