A MOMENT IN HISTORY - JUNE 6, 1944
June 6, 1944, the United States made the largest landing in WW2 on the
shores of France. 209,000 casualties of brave American and Allied men
during the battle for Normandy. It
forever changed Europe and changed the tide of the war. These photos
were taken by Robert Capa, a Life photographer who was embedded with the
US Army's First Infantry Division, and the only civilian photographer
there. We honor the memories of the men who gave their lives to liberate
Europe from the Nazi regime, and will be forever grateful for our
Greatest Generation and their sacrifices to our amazing country.
