Recipe for the Week - Spaghetti Squash with Pork Marinara Sauce

Dear Readers:

As some of you may know I recently found out I have an allergy to garlic.  Of course one of my favorite cuisines would be Italian, especially spaghetti sauce.  While in my kitchen over the weekend, I decided to come up with a spaghetti sauce recipe that didn't include garlic.  I was absolutely amazed when I put this together.  It tasted wonderful!  ALSO, I believe this would be a great recipe for those who have an allergy to gluten.

Homemade Mayonnaise- the quest for preservative free foods

This past Thursday, March 15th, I posted on my Current Recipe Page a recipe for Egg Yolk Mayonnaise.  Now, the last time I made mayonnaise was when I took home economics in high school, and I won't say how long ago that was!  However, today I made the mayonnaise. WOW, it tastes great!  What is really wonderful is that it doesn't have all the other junk that is in today's store bought mayonnaise.  

My next search is a recipe for ketchup (catsup).  Since I have an allergy to garlic, and the fact that I consider ketchup a basic food group, I have to find one without the garlic.  Once again I will go back to the old cookbooks and should be able to modify accordingly.  I'll keep you posted.  

If you have any allergy issues, I am recommending that you get back to the basics of cooking.  You eliminate all the preservatives, the soy bean products, wheat, etc.  I have long said, the food processing industries and the people who bury us are in cahoots to have us 'pickled' before we die.

Recipe for the Week - Pecan Coffee Cake

We are having crazy weather here in Tennessee.  Last week when I posted my recipe, the high for the day was in the 30's.  This week it is in the 60's.  I think Mother Nature is having issues!
