When it comes to air fresheners, it’s safe to say that natural is always better. After all, dousing your home with noxious chemicals isn’t exactly the most appealing of ideas! That’s why we’ve searched far and wide for the easiest and safest way to make your home smell sweet—and boy have we found a great one.  

Today’s tip comes from the brilliant YouTubers over at The Heathered Nest, a channel that focuses on DIYs that take less than a minute to complete. What we love about their air freshener is that it’s super simple to make and it works completely on its own—no spraying or flames involved.  

All you need to do is grab an ordinary clothespin (it MUST be the wooden kind!) and slather some essential oil onto both its inside and outside, up to the part that pinches. Once finished, simply clip on to your air vent and forget about it. Pretty soon you will be met with sweet-smelling air that LASTS!  

You can complete this hack in any room, and even in your car, too! Simply douse your clothespin with your chosen oil, and clip on to your vehicle’s vent. It works similarly to the store-bought air fresheners that are made to be inserted into the A/C.
