One of my favorite hot drinks on a cold night is hot chocolate. The way I like to make it is to microwave a cup of whole milk or almond milk, add chocolate sauce (you can make your own from the recipe on the can of Hershey's unsweetened powdered cocoa), with a dollop of whipped cream. Apparently, according to the article below, the stuff that comes in a box or that you get at one of these coffee shops is not so good for you. Here is an excerpt and the link for the entire article.
Yes, we're sorry to be the bearer of news that'll ruin campfires this
fall and après-ski in the winter, but it turns out the only way to have a
clean hot chocolate is to make it yourself, said Jennifer Glockner, RD,
a dietitian in Los Angeles and author of the Smartee Plate e-book
series.
"When I reviewed the nutritional information for hot chocolate at
popular coffee house chains across the country, it was hard to find a
healthy, clean version," she said. "The same is true for most powders
you see at the supermarket. Almost all are made from processed cocoa
powders and have mile-long ingredients lists."
