This is one vitamin that I take faithfully. Of course this study is related to older adults, but I have to wonder if it doesn't impact young adults also (if you get my drift). Below is an excerpt from the article as well as a link to the entire article.
"Older adults with low vitamin D levels - and that accounts for most
of them - may lose their memories and thinking abilities faster than
those with normal vitamin D levels, researchers say.
"'We were not particularly surprised by our findings because there is a
recent and growing literature on the associations between vitamin D
status and risk of Alzheimer's disease/dementia, cognitive decline, and
brain atrophy,' Dr. Joshua W. Miller from Rutgers University, New
Brunswick, New Jersey told Reuters Health by email."
